Bookkeeper - Part Time (Immediate Opening):
Work Location: Elmhurst Baptist Church / 87-37 Whitney Avenue, Elmhurst, NY 11373
Elmhurst Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper and some Light Administrative work (4 hours weekly). We offer some flexibility but consistency in days / hours worked and some remote work to fulfill this requirement. Work in the church facility at least once a month. Remote work will require use of own PC to access QuickBooks, Tithe.ly and Email.
Performs and understands all aspects of bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, data management, account reconciliations, recording journal entries, creating detailed reports for treasurer/finance committee of the Board of Trustees. We use QuickBooks Online and Tithe.ly
Bookkeeper will report directly to the Church Treasurer.
Job Duties
Requests and processes W-9 forms from new vendors.
Processes reimbursement forms and expense report forms
Processes bi-weekly payroll including direct deposit into employee accounts.
Maintains digital and physical financial records.
Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions into QuickBooks
Bank Reconciliation
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares Financials and reports for the Treasurer
Qualifications / Skills
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
Familiarity with finance regulations
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Hands-on experience with MS Excel and QuickBooks and Google Workplace
Attention to detail and an ability to analyze Information
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
At least two years of college
Offered Wage: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience / No Benefits except for Mandatory NYC Unpaid Sick Leave. Background screening will be required.
